Viareggio

It’s time to hit the beach and we’re talking the biggest beach in the Tuscany area at the great resort of Viareggio!

Located on the Mediterranean it’s a beach town, the largest beach town as a matter of fact.  It’s packed to the brim with the trendy and classical cafes, restaurants, shopping, and more.  The night life is not to be sneezed at either.  Young people on their romantic getaway often choose Viareggio for the contrast of countryside and beach front fun.

It’s on the west coast of Italy in Tuscany also known as the Versilia Coast.  It’s got festivals that are quite famous including the Viareggio Carnevale.  It’s one of the biggest parties in all of Italy.  It’s not an exaggeration that a million or more people show up here to party, eat, dance, and just have fun.  There’s a huge parade down the coast and masquerade balls, contests and more.  If you’re going to Italy to party don’t miss this event.

The Summer fun has the Cittadella Jazz and More festival running from the middle of June to the middle of August.  Can you imagine fine jazz in Italy in the summertime?  Great food, awesome wine, and jazz.  You can’t miss out on that!  There’s also the Puccini Opera Festival too.  Fine opera from the country that invented opera.

Getting around Viareggio is easy with buses, car rentals, cabs, bikes, and the airport is 15 miles away in Pisa.  There’s also the train that runs from Genoa to Rome.  If you’re driving a rental car you can drive down the main highways.

All in all Viareggio has a history of partying going back to it’s hey day in the early part of the 1900s and continues that tradition to this day.
